The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) held a ceremony at Yundum Barracks on Thursday to promote over 300 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) from four different battalions. The event, attended by family members, principal officers, and members of society, celebrated the dedication and service of the promoted personnel.

Speaking at the ceremony, Brigadier General Sait Njie, Commander of the Gambia National Army (GNA), emphasised that the promotions followed a thorough screening process conducted by a board constituted by the High Command. He underscored the military’s allegiance to civilian authority and urged the promoted soldiers to focus on their constitutional duties, refraining from political involvement.
