President Barrow Appoints New Judicial Secretary

The president of the Republic of the Gambia His Excellency Adama Barrow acting under section 143 of the 1997 Constitution, Thursday July 6th, appointed Mr Abudou Conteh as Judicial Secretary at a ceremony held at the state house in Banjul.

His appointment came as a result of the recommendation of the Judicial service Commission which triggered President Barrow to act on the powers vested in him by the Constitution of the Republic of the Gambia to appoint Abdou Conteh as Judicial Secretary.

The president described Mr Conteh as someone with vase knowledge and has years of experience in the legal sector, adding that his government will continue to support the legal system in its quest for effective service delivery. President Barrow applauded the chief justice for giving qualify Gambians the opportunity to run the Judicial sector.

The Chief Justice of The Gambia, Hassan B. Jallow thanked the president for his continued support to the legal sector in its quest for effective service delivery and in the execution of the five-year strategy plan of the Judiciary.

Mr. Abdou Conteh thanked the president for his appointment and trust bestowed in him. He expressed his commitment in ensuring effective service delivery and impartially.

The newly appointed Judicial secretary will be supporting the Chief Justice on administrative and financial matters in the day-to-day activities of the justice system of the Gambia.

Secretary Mr. Conteh took the prescribed oaths before cabinet members, legal luminaries and loved ones.
