Modou Lamin Nyassi, head coach of Brikama united has been sacked by the club. The club released a statement late evening of Monday, May 1st that they have parted ways with Nyassi.
According to the statement: “…the decision to terminate his contract was necessitated by the poor performance of the club from the end of last season to recent matches.”
“Mr. Nyassi was given enough time to bring back the club to winning ways but this has placed the Club into a zone that could be detrimental to our stay in top flight football.”
“Brikama United remains a community team that Nyassi, like any other resident of the community has a stake in. Equally, this termination affects his Backroom Staff (Technicians).”
He has been replaced by Sherrif Jallow alias Rappa on interim basis. He is to be assisted by Pa-saloum Kujabi (App), at least to complete the remainder of the season. Brikama United currently sits at 12 position on the League table – only one point above the relegation zone. With 18 games played, the Sateyba boys only managed 4 victories and a staggering 8 draws, losing the remaining 6 games. They have also the conceded a whopping 20 goals, while only scoring 19.
